Weekly timetable

What are we learning this term?

Writing

This term in Year 1, the children will be producing a poem, a character description, a story with a familiar setting and a non-chronological report. The subject of each piece of writing will be relevant to the current topic of the wider curriculum subject (history, geography, science).

In Year 1, phonics is a huge part of our English journey and is something that we really focus on throughout this year. The children will enjoy daily phonics sessions that follow the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds scheme. If you would like to know more about the phonics or ways in which you could support your child with their reading at home let me know.
