Year 5

ST. THOMAS' AGAINST DISCRIMINATION

Our Year 5 children have been busy voicing their opinions through persuasive letters. They wrote letters to Boris Johnson and local government expressing their concern about discrimination in society, particularly through social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Here is an exceptionally powerful letter we wanted to share:

Off the back off this letter, Year 5 managed to gain contact with Stoke City Community Trust who were keen to work with our children regarding the effects of discrimination in society.

We were delighted to welcome Stoke City Ladies' First Team Coach Alena Moulton for an online Teams discussion on her views around discrimination and how this can impact those in the football industry and the wider community. The children had an amazingly enriching experience and left school with genuine smiles and very important messages.
