Supporting our Local Community

Supporting Care Homes in our Community

At Christmas, we visit care homes and our choirs sings festive songs to entertain the residents. This year, as a result of the pandemic, the children created Christmas cards instead. One card was given to each resident to let them know that they are not alone and we were thinking of them.

Supporting the Foodbank

At harvest, the school community carry out a collection for the local foodbank with St Thomas' Church. The church community lead workshops in classes to help the pupils understand how their donations will help people in need. The pupils are involved in displaying the donations ready for our harvest service where families are invited to join together in the school hall. In 2020, as a result of the pandemic, donations were displayed in class bubbles and Mrs Baker produced a video and workshops for the children to use in class.

Throughout the year, a collection box is kept by the school office and families make regular donations to continue to support the food bank.
